Default Magic Eraser sponges on Paintwork?

I have a 2010 XF LUX in ebony black, I have started to get the swirl scratches in the paintwork, I have been told by a friend who does detailing that the Mr Clean Magic Eraser works great at removing the swirl marks in the paint, apparently the Mr Clean one works best and you get through about four doing the whole car.
Has anybody tried this on their car?

Sounds like a very bad idea, Magic Erasers are slightly abrasive.

Post your question in the Detailing section of this forum for a recommendation on a good swirl remover compound.

Yeh I wasn't sure whether it was a wind up or not, he seemed to sound prety serious, but I wasn't going to try it unless it was a popular little trade secret.

There are many products for safely improving the appearance and removing swirls from your paintwork, HD Uno is relatively new and I have used and found it to be very effective.
