Jay,

Your 2001 XJ8 is known as an X308, made from 1998 to 2003, mostly, as some markets had a model change mid year, and some at other times.

The prefix XJ stands for Experimental Jaguar and were the factory codes assigned to models from the mid '60's. The X codes started under Ford ownership from 1990 and continued under the present Tata ownership.

Your 2001 XJ8 VdP is an X308 produced 1997-2003.

I think I've posted the list of X codes before but it is relevant to your question.

Default Thank you. That's a keeper

Thank you .
That's a keeper.
Maybe that will help find a wiring diagram or schematic. Or the right fuse layout.

Thank you

The wiring diagrams (Electrical Guide) are part of JTIS (Jaguar Technical Information System - the Workshop Manuals) available as a free download from this thread:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/g...rchives-65926/

The fuse and relay layouts are in the Vehicle Care Handbook - part of the original vehicle document set.

Default Thanks again Graham

I'll have to fire up the laptop to save that information.
Found the fuel pump relay now looking for the fuel injection relay.
I want to do a compression test on this Engine before I invest any money into it. I'm not sure if pulling the relay for the fuel pump will disable the fuel injectors.

Thank you
Graham.
