Default No Com TCM

2008 Jag Type-x 3.0L , Hey guys i need some help , i recently lost my key so a friend sugested that i get on Ebay and order a key with the computer that it would be way cheaper then geting a key programed , the key came with the PCM , BCM and tumbler also the cluster, i changed it all out and the car started right up , well after puting it in drive i noticed it wont shift into first, long story short now i can't comunicate with the TCM , any suggestions on how i should proceed ?

Not understanding the CAN bus and other networks can get you in a bunch of trouble.

Advice from a well-meaning friend and used parts from ebay - that's what I call a very dangerous combination.

1. put it all back the way it was, bite the bullet and have two new keys programmed
OR
2. get hold of factory level diagnostics then spend a lot of time reading and asking questions on the forum

Thanks for your reply, do you think theres a way to get the tcm to comunicate with the rest of the can system ?

April 2005 Tech Tip had info on 32 bit ECM recovery.
You might try to communicate with ECM and TCM for a CLEAR ADAPTATIONS of the TCM?

That will check software for the ECM and TCM?

You should have saved the VID block before 'messing-around' with modules on any network.
