Default O2 Sensor

My fault finder states that I need to replace the Lower heater sensor on bank 1. Now as it looked impossible to do it without removing the intake manifold. Well this I have done, but it proved very difficult at my age (78) both physically and mentally. It proved that my mechanical days are well and truly behind me. Especially when I tried to remove the O2 sensor in question. I purchased the special socket but I still cannot remove it, with the heat reflector in place. Now I’m in desperate need of help, so if there’s someone out there that could remove it for me ASAP, (before I forget how to replace the manifold) . I’m in the 4300, Goodna area, and I’ve taken on much more than I can chew. I accept that I’ll have to pay, but I have bought the new O2 sensor, and manifold gasket’s, so can anyone help ? Your assistance will be very much appreciated, because at this stage, I can’t see my car,,, Xtype’03 model, 2.1 Petrol motor, automatic, ever driving again. Please help… Docko

Docko,

HO2 sensors can be a brute to remove after a few years even with the special socket.

As you are in Goodna, this request for help is likely to be seen by more members around Brisbane if posted in the Australia - Queensland Region forum. Let me know if you want it moved.

Graham
