I can't see why readers shouldn't work on UK made cars but has anyone used the OBDCOM one on a UK model?

If it didn't come with a manual the YELLOW means a pending DTC or some systems haven't ran there tests OR CAUTION..
GREEN--is all Ok, all monitors have ran and passed
RED --- DTC are present and one or more systems have FAILED there tests AND the CHECK ENGINE LITE is or should be ON and the scanner should show a DTC.

I just got the UltragGarage "scanner" and I'm happy with it.
It works on my '07 Xk, '08 Touareg and '05 scape.

My water Temp reading ist 200°F = 93°C and guess that's ok for now.
Will see in the summer if it stays that way.

BTW, I detected some error codes with missfire detection which I cleared and which didn't come back.
I guess it was because of bad fuel, I had a bad idling some days ago after I filled up on the cheapest gas station
in my area.

I got the Innova 3120 because I have an OBDI engine ('93 Chevrolet Z-28). Tried it and it worked well on my 2004 Dodge Stratus, and my 2006 Chrysler 300. Finally, I tried it on the 2004 XK8, and it showed "passed" tests, but did not give a lot of detail-- but it seemed to work with and identify the Jag codes. I'm pleased with it for the price for sure!! Already cleared a code on a friends 2006 VW New Beetle.

Default AutoEnginuity Not Compatible 1999 XK8 SAE OBD connection

I just spent $500 on AutoEnginuity OBD software only to find out it only works with Jaguar enhanced CAN data. AutoEnginuity told me they have issues with reading the generic OBD code from XJs and XK Jaguars. Which means no O2 sensor data is available. It would be a nice scanner package if it completely worked.

Wow, that's very odd, how can everyone else offer the standard codes for peanuts and they can't for 500 bucks?

Have used now the Ultragauge on several XKRs (1999, 2000,2001 and 2005), and it works great and is relativly cheap.

It is a neat little unit, that not only has the ability to show DTC's and reset them, but also shows live data so no need for a laptop (i.e. stft/ltft values) and true temps, you can also set alarms to certain sensors.

No idea what could be the issue, but the 99, assuming your CAN network protocol is ISO 9141 (which it should be, assuming its a US car) should be able to work easily with AE. Mine does exactly what it says it should. Its only had issues that I've read, on the earlier XJ & XK models, 96-97s (the first year of requiring OBD II compliance), and ones manufactured for the European markets.

Default Actron CP 9145 works with '07 STR

Used an Actron CP 9145 to download codes and reset CEL on my 2007 STR. I was impressed with the huge amount of data I was able to access. I have had the car for 2 days and got (and hopefully fixed) a lean mixture (P0174 & P0171) condition. I couldn't have had as good of an outcome without Jaguar Forums.

Can you tell me why this reader is not recommended for the 2004 X-Type?
Thanks for your advise.

I have AutoEnginuity (the pre-2007 build which doesn't support the Jaguar expansion) and an ELM scantool. The software for both is installed on the same laptop.

The AutoEnginuity scantool only operates with AE software and the generic ELM scantool doesn't recognise the AE software.

I just bought this one (Autel MaxiScan MS-509) as well. It came highly recommended for my situation/car. However, while it will read generic codes, it does not have any real interface with my 1998 XJ8. I'm looking for a reader that actually will communicate with this car, and recognize what it is.
