Can anyone identify this radiator. It is from a MK2 platform car. Early 240? All the 240 I have seen used the same radiator as the 340. I could be wrong. Early MK2? Help appreciated. Only difference to all the MK2 radiators I have seen is the inlet pipe is straight and short. Not longer and angled. Thanks BOB

I put an aluminium radiator in my MK1 about 4 years ago. It cost A$220 against the cost of a re-core costing in excess of A$1000 So far it has worked quite OK but do note that this is running without the fan shroud as this car did not have one. An acquaintance tried to fit an ally radiator with the shroud and it didn't fit
You need to be careful about the radiator cap supplied as they are typically somewhere around 1.4 Atmospheres or approximately 20 pounds per square inch (PSI). Initially it blew out one of the welch plugs (freeze plugs). Apparently those old dish type plugs will not handle the extremely high pressures used in modern motor vehicles.
The Jag MK1/2 cooling system should only be pressurised to about 7 PSI. In the end I modified the supplied radiator cap with a weaker spring and it has been operating satisfactorily.
I suspect that Mojadidi's car will have severe corrosion in the cylinder head and timing case cover. Every time I have seen this sort of rust/corrosion present it inevitably requires welding on those items.
