Default Rebuilt v.s. Used

As some of you know I blew up the motor in my baby, my 2007 Jaguar XKR. I was planning on putting a used hopefully low mile motor in my car until I stumbled across Galaxy Jaguar. The are not to far from me and will do the engine swap with a rebuilt motor as apposed to a used motor from a salvaged vehicle for about the same money as putting in a used motor. What do you Jag pros think about going rebuilt v.s. used and has anyone had any experience with Galaxy Jaguar? More specifically has anyone here purchased one of there rebuilt motors or had them do major mechanical work on there Jag before. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I'm all about a rebuild. Then I know exactly the condition of the engine.
A delayed response... what did you choose in the end?
Cheers!

Either it's taking a lot longer than expected or things haven't gone to plan.

In general I would say that the rebuilt engine is the best choice. The condition of the motor is a certainty and the warranty is probably going to be longer. Since the cost of installation is considerable, if the rebuilder's shop installs the motor I would think that any warranty claim would be easier to settle. I don't think that there are many shops rebuilding later model Jaguar motors. So a used motor might be all that is available. A used engine can be a good choice if it is much cheaper than the rebuilt unit and the installation costs are not too high. I've seen used engine warranties that are only 90 days! Jag V8's aren't cheap in either case and the installation costs are much higher than swapping in a small block Chevy in the old days. On the other hand, a used engine obtained from a reputable source can be long lived but it's a bit of a crap shoot. Glad I don't have to make this choice.

Default Not sure about Galaxy

I'm not sure about Galaxy,
I have sent several email request asking them about their "rebuilt engines" More specifically, exactly what do they do to their rebuilds. They have never responded.
