sdd 160 full +patch +engineering menu calculator

Alternateurdegolf4 yes I was surprised Jaguar DID suggest this and thought it was important enough that they released a SDD best practices with that in it.
Now I am trying to see if anyone has actually done this?
Seems risky to me with my limited SDD knowledge but as you say it's Jaguar's own suggestion!
Anyone disconnect modules BEFORE a scan and then plug them in to reprogram?
Did it work?

Guys, I tried swapping the ECMs before reprogramming and... IT WORKS.
I opened SDD 160 and did a scan of my vehicle with the original ECM.
I then went to the programming function for a new module, I clicked until I reached the last step, when it asks to accept or refuse the download of a .bin file. There I turned off the ignition, disconnected the battery, put on the used ECM that I got from another vehicle, reconnected the battery and clicked "yes". The programming started and reached the end.
I still had an error message relating to the immobilizer and the engine would not start. So I programmed the immobilizer and now the enginge starts well. I still have the airbag light flashing and faults relating to the other computers. It may be necessary to programme the different calculaturs. I haven't tried it yet because I noticed that with this new calculator I still have my injection problems so I have no interest in continuing.
I did a new scan of the vehicle and it is indeed the original VID of my vehicle that is displayed and not that of the donor.
Important note: I did not need to activate engineer mode.

The SDD files for all versions are free and scattered all around?
Here is a quick search and you can spend hours getting them if you want?
SDD Files
Now note in those search results is a GREAT thread over on the UK Jaguar forum?
They have built virtual images of various version of SDD. This is by far the quickest and easiest method of installing SDD.
