Default SDD is not supported on this PC

I have an original Laptop CF-12 and I have the Original IDS DVD 119.

So I had a little Problem HDD was nearly Full, so I decided to erase all Files with the Backup Manager to the Original State.

Then I installed IDS DVD 119 and RDS 7.0 without any Problem but every Time I try to install SDD i get the Error Message:

"SDD is not supported on this PC" (or on this type of PC I have not copied carrect error message text)

SO I realy ask myself what is wrong?!? If I start the SDD_DVD131_FULL.exe at Home (where i downloaded the File) i am asked what Languege to install SDD but on the Original Laptop of Landrover Jaguar I can't install it? Or is there any minimum requirement about Windows? I testet 3 PCs with Windows 7 and every Time I am asked what Languege to install. On the Original Laptop is Windows XP SP2 and it always show me this Error Message.

I realy have no Idea how to Fix this issue, would be happy about any Ideas.

Welcome to the forum.

I'm sure one of the mods will be along shortly, directing you to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to make an introduction. Would be worth your while, more people will offer to help if you are an active member.

What language is Windows installed in on your laptop? I found that IDS would only install on machines with the OS in English, because the folder to install has to be called "C:/Program Files". If you have the OS in German it's "Programme" and the install fails. Also it must be installed on the C: drive and with no other IDS (Ford/Mazda) or other diagnostic programs on the machine.

Good luck with it.

Cause it's original it has the Original English Windows XP SP2 English.

And installing IDS is no Problem. I could install IDS DVD 119 without any Problem, but the latest Version is SDD 131 and that can't be installed. I will try to Backup PC one more Time and start a new Fresh install of SDD but I'm sure there are no other Software on the PC at the Moment.

So I checked it again... and i'm sorry the Laptop is a Panasonic CF-18! Not CF-12! My fault could not read my own writing...

And it with XP SP3 now in English, but still can't install SDD 131 so I called the Helpdesk and they told me it's cause CF-18 is no longer supportet for SDD! There was a Newsletter in Toppix with Infos about old Laptops and new SDD Software on 12/2011.

So I will try SDD 130 now. Thank God I have a Backup of some older Downloads.
I will report if this works. Thanks for the Help Cambo.

Well I can't understand why the install would fail just because the laptop is not supported. I have IDS DVD129/130 installed on a Dell D420, was never supported but all works fine...

Yes now it's totally clear. IDS DVD 130 is working without any Problem!

I got the Info in an other Forum that SDD will soon be known as SDD2 and it seems 131 is the first Version which check Hardware. So better Backup your IDS 130 Full and Updates if you want use them in future.

Yes that was mentioned in our thread https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/g...e4/#post587581 from DVD131.04 there is a whole new security regime and the laptop needs to be online permanently.

Looks like for us non-dealer people, a fresh install of DVD130 will be needed each time that the system wants to update to DVD131.

Glad you got it sorted out.

Did anyone manage to get the sdd 130 running on a xp installation which doesn't offer "program files", but different named directories like "programme" ?

I got the SDD working now .. just copy the complete JLR-folder to "program files", if you're using some other name as default for your programs.

Update:
More elegant way to get it working on a german laptop:

HD must be in ntfs.
download "junction", which is a winxp-tool."
generate a hardlink from "programme" to "program files".
Now the messed up paths of the sdd will allways find their way.. as both names work.
