I've been using SDD 1.34 for a long time on a number of pre 2008 Jaguars without any difficulties.
It recognised the VIN of my 2015MY XK but then gave the error message "vehicle not supported by this version" and I could get no further.
Time for a software update so I sourced the latest available SDD 1.51. After going through the usual lengthy process to install this, I then noticed something had changed. The VDF (Vehicle Data Files) are no longer available for download from Jaguar Central (Index of /265935/idscentral).
This is explained in the fileset ReadMe:
Jaguar Vehicle Data File (VDF)
Please note that Jaguar Land Rover are making changes to how we deliver Vehicle Data Files (VDF) to Jaguar Land Rover Approved Diagnostic Equipment.
VDF do not need to be manually downloaded from the Diagnostic Delivery Server. VDF will now be automatically requested and downloaded as they are required.
I can't decide whether this is genuinely an improvement for the dealer network running a live connection or simply designed to make it more difficult for those of us who use a less orthodox method of running SDD.
SDD 1.51 has now been superseded by SDD 1.52 so the intention cannot be to make core version updates less frequent whilst keeping VDF's on continuous update.
My solution was to go back to SDD 1.50 which was the last to bundle the VDF's. This runs offline in the same way as my older SDD 1.34 and has no vehicle recognition or connection issues.
Anyone used a different approach with these later versions?

I haven't used SDD yet as I need to repair my laptop and find my cable.
Just regretting having downloaded V1.52 ; will have to hunt for 1.50

Hello
Sorry to dig up an old thread, being new to Jaguar's im trying to setup SDD versions 1.45 or 1.50 but for the life of me cannot locate the patch file so i can update my modules, has anyone got a patch file they would be willing to share, im using v159 at the moment but would roll back to 1.45 or 1.50 foe the same reason as above.
Thanks in advance
Al
I'd very much like to get hold of the patch file for v150. If possible, can you please email it to me?
Many thanks
I have emailed this 48mB zip several times before but Microsoft must have reduced the permitted file size for a single attachment on an Outlook account email because it's now showing as exceeding the limit. However, it is on my MediaFire file storage and you can download it from there:
