Default Stuck in valet mode

Hi everyone my 1998 Jaguar XJ8L (Unites States) is stuck in valet mode. Key fob doesn't work. Black head in trunk didn't work and locking/unlocking the doors with black head key didn't work. Any help would be appreciated. I inadvertently hit the valet button on the dash instead of the heated seat button.

Normally starting the car with the correct non valet key cancels valet mode.

+1

An exception to this is if the Valet switch is stuck ON.

Thank you, I tried that and still stuck in valet mode. Is there a fuse or anything like that I can pull?

I don't think that will help you but I have never researched it. What I would do is get a can of spray electronic contact cleaner and spray and then exercise the switch that could possible free it up. You could also try unplugging it but if it is stuck it will go back in valet mode when plugged back in.

Thank you, will check into that. Noticed my key isn't turning 90° on the trunk lock, so something else for me to look at after I get it out of valet mode and open the trunk .

The boot lid needs to be opened manually and the latch switch needs to indicate OPEN (light needs to come ON)

That is how to disable VALET MODE.
