Default Superglue activator

You may have found that cyanoacrylate glues (superglue) don't 'go off' on some plastics.

There's a darkly guarded secret called Loctite 770.
This is an activating primer intended to allow bonding of even the most diffficult plastic materials with a series of Loctite products but works just as well with Supermarket Superglue.

Use the most microscopic amount, thick coats reduce the bond strength.

Except in the most difficult cases applying to one side only will initiate polymerisation.

You can also purchase superglue activator under a variety of brands at most hobby shops...at least here in the states.

Steveinfrance, brew up some Carbon Tet, surely you have a decent supply of chloroform and chlorine, not to mention methane.

Just keep the temp down or we'll have to come and rescue you from the phosgene. If you start to smell fresh cut grass, run away! or don your business suit.
