trouble finding a short - RESOLVED
Hi. I'm not a electrical expert for sure, but I know enough to keep myself out of trouble...however, I'm having a hard time finding what is drawing a constant 1.2 amps of current in my 1999 XJ8 (I posted here because I doubt it's specific to that model).
Here's what I've done - disconnected the negative cable on the battery put a multimeter between the post and the cable - measures 1.2 amps. The doors are latched and the trunk is latched. Everything is turned off.
Then, I connected a test light and started pulling fuses one at a time. I pulled every fuse and nothing caused the light to go out. Correction - I pulled every fuse except for the 3 - 5 that have special covers.
Is there any unfused circuits that could be causing the draw? Any other tests I could do?
