Updating Radio
It appears that the AJ8700 radio in my XJS has died. I really like the simplicity of operation of the radio and to my old ears the sound is very adequate. I got to thinking that if I'm gonna replace it, maybe a radio out of a later model Jag would fit right in there and have a few more features. I really like the simple two knob type of operation. Is there a later model factory radio that sounds better, is cd capable etc, but, has the ease of operation I'm looking for.
I really dislike the new aftermarket radios with the multi function buttons. I don't want to go that route unless I have to or can find one that is very user friendly.

If you like the original look but want up-to-date features, this could give you some ideas:
Classic Car Stereo - Vintage and retro style car radios and speakers
A popular option here in the UK, there must be US suppliers of similar products.

Thanks guys,
I have solved the problem. I pulled the radio out to check voltage at the plug and found another fuse. It is a push in plastic type and it is inserted into the top of the radio. I don't know if they all have this fuse, but, nobody mentioned it in the initial responses. Mine was under a piece of clear tape and easily visible!? Maybe they are sometimes covered with some other kind of tape? Anyhow, the fuse was blown, I replaced it and all is well. I must have blown it when I blew the antenna fuse screwing around with the antenna wiring.
I will check into the Vintage style sites and see what I can find. I'd like a couple more features, but, ease of operation is more important to me.
