Vanden Plas Issues

Vanden Plas Issues
I have a 1996 Jag Vanden Plas and the engine will not turn over when attempting to crank the car. The car has 1/4 tank of gas and I have had the battery checked out. The car is securely in the Park position so I am ruling out the gear shaft. The only ASSUMPTION that I can make at this time is that the fuel filter needs to be changed. The issue is that I can not find the location of the filter. Can someone please assist?

don't know much about the 96 but on my 99 the fuel filter is under the car at the rear mounted up next to the well for the spare tire, the fuel tank is in the trunk behind a panel and changing the fuel pump was NOT easy, hope this gives you a place to start,...my fuel filter looks like a metal can...

When you state the engine wont "turn over" do you mean nothing happens when you turn the key, or do you mean it wont fire and stay running? I'm assumming you mean the engine turns over but wont start. If nothing happens when you turn the key, it's battery not supplying power to the starter, or the starter is dead. If it turns over but does not want to start, check for fuel delivery to the throttle body and spark to the cylinders (coil packs to the spark plugs). Hope this helps.
