Default VIN not valid at spare parts dealer

Hi,

my xf 2008 VIN (vehicule identification number) woten at the bootom of the windshield is considered as invalid at online and real life spare parts dealers.
Is it a common "old" jaguar issue ?

There are different VIN protocols in use around the world. Not all VIN decoders are loaded to decipher all VINs. For example, a parts vendor in North America may have their system loaded to decipher only the North American VIN system.
