webers or triple su's?

Default webers or triple su's?

I'm sure this has been discussed,but I could not find the link.My customer has a 1970 XKE,4.2 and wishes to update the carburation from the Strombergs.He is looking for reliability and enhanced performance.From those who have made the change,which is better,triple su's or Webers?Thank you.Ted

Played with both... but not on a jag. my experience is that the SU are simple and easy to maintain.
And when they become temperamental, its only when I have neglected them for a bit.
Webers are good. Perhaps it was my lack of knowledge at the time but I found tuning them a real pita. Then once tuned... they would fall out of the tune frequently. Again, I was younger at the time.

Triple SU HS8 spec, simple as they come, stay in tune.
Manual choke kit is also simple to get and fit.

Webers are great for racing, but as said, always need a tickle here and there, gets tiring after a month or 2.
