What Model does this Leaper belong to?

Default What Model does this Leaper belong to?

Hello All-

While I am a great Jaguar fan, I am not an owner. Our MG club was given a set of Hood Ornaments, or Leapers as I believe that are known here.

Each of them come in an original Jaguar box labeled 'Jaguar Genuine Retractable Bonnet Ornament', and have a sticker with the number JAG000323 on the side.

We'd like to sell these, probably on eBay. I'd like to be able to post the correct model and years that they belong to.

Can anyone help me identify these?

I think that was either Elle Macpherson's, or maybe Naomi Campbell's. I dont remember which one of those models though

Show us a picture, but the word "retractable" indicates to me it is the leaper for the modern S-type and a fairly common fitment. The fitment to the hood should have a spring to allow the leaper to be pushed aside if hit. No early (60s) leapers were retractable, they all used two bolts.

What you linked belongs to X Type may be S Type . I do have spring one with 7" but mine is different and made for X300 . So, not all the 7" inches are same


Here are the original images to my leaper .You can see its label and the item itself , brand new in the box .Sounds like I am seller nope lol

Its not for the newer 1999 S Types and up.

I just measured our '05 leaper. From nose to tail 5" and the base is 4".
