Default infotainment icons

Apologies in advance if this has been dealt with- couldn't find an exact reference. Comparing my infotainment screen with the user manual,my vehicle has no driver side/passenger side vertical rows of icons, only black space. Is this correct or is there a problem? It seems there are alternative ways to get to most of those icon functions that are shown in the manual, except for the Apps icon. I have scheduled an appointment with the dealer to sort it, but am going to fool foolish and probably poorer if this is either the way the car should be, or there is a simple configuration option somewhere. Interestingly, some of the photos of the screen on this forum don't seem to show the vertical icons either. Thanks for any help.

Default I-Pace AV Screen

It would help to know what year you have as the technology changed over the years, but this is what the screen should look like. Here is a video on screen operation for a 2019:

Good luck!
