iPace Going in for unscheduled maintenance
Received the notification for the H264 Software update in the mail and the car is scheduled to go in on Wednesday. The H264 is supposed to both increase the car's range and make the predictive range more accurate (I'm currently showing an incredibly optimistic 289-mile range). So I expect my actual range to go up and my predicted range to go down. Apparently there is also the H221 patch that will go in at the same time that will finally enable 100KW charging (I'm currently limited to 50KW) and fix the surround screen failure problem (which I've been having). And finally, I get a new charging port label (be still my beating heart) and a new Fronk release cable which, I believe, is under recall. I'll post impressions after the 180-mile drive home from the dealer.

Well, apparently they can't charge the car while they do software updates. They were done by 2 but we had to wait till 4 until the car had what looked like a full charge. Got home with 12 miles of range left. That's cutting it pretty tight. Cameras are working fine, didn't notice any extra range (it is possible the car wasn't really fully charged) but the range estimate appeared to be far more accurate once it adjusted for the fact I was mostly driving uphill. A lot of my settings got changed with the patch and I'll have to fix those tomorrow. Regen braking seems more aggressive again. Other than that and the cameras I'm not yet noticing much difference but it was a wet dark night so I was mostly focused on not driving into oncoming traffic. The drive from Bend to Portland is pretty scary this time of year when it is raining because the water obscures the lines on the road and there are no lights so if there is any fog or heavy rain you can't even see the edge of the road let alone the lane you are supposed to be in. Drove there in the dark this morning and then it was dark again for the drive home. Not even remotely fun.

Got the car back this afternoon. Some things I noticed:
Map graphics seem a bit smoother - not as jerky as before.
At full charge the GOM said 255mi in eco mode. After a 17.5mi drive home the GOM said 237mi. and I wasn't using climate control.
GOM graphic has changed to a horizontal bar (see attached pic).
WattCat showed no change in TCU firmware version - J8A2-70712-AV which is 16.2. I thought I would get 18.2.
Misc settings needed to be reset - creep mode, cellular data, center display layout, etc.
