Ink Stained Leather

Ink Stained Leather
Best idea: Don't get ink stains on leather.
But today I went to the bank drive up window and their pen leaked on my hand. Before I noticed, my mocha leather steering wheel had blue spots.
Before attempting the wheel, I tried every cleaner I had all the way up to paint thinner on my hand with no results. Even the "miracle" products from the detail shop people wouldn't touch it.
Then my friendly contact at the local Jag dealer gave me the least likely suggestion I've ever heard and it worked great.
Brake cleaner.
Gently and slowly and carefully of course. And then I followed up with some leather conditioner.
No sign of blue ink remains.
Maybe you've heard of this before but it sure surprised me!

My two year old daughter went through my '05 VDP the other day with a blue ink pen. She now rides in the trunk where ever we go. Brake cleaner... that's scary. I'm gonna try the brake cleaner trick with extreme caution. Doesn't that stuff remove the paint from cars as well? I'll post with my results.
