lol...so I'm a slacker!! Pics coming today, delta. Thanks for reminding me!! Money has become scarce as of late, and the person who was to have gotten back to me on the dash veneer has yet to do so. I might go a different route...who knows.

Here are as few (crappy...lol) pictures of the new headliner and headliner trim. A couple of the pictures didn't come out so good, so I'll move the car into the light and take some more.

I'm going to do the center posts and some of the other stuff the same color as the headliner trim (the darker brown).

You can tell from the third pictures that I've still got the cockpit torn apart...lol.

Great update. The slower than you would like progress must be very frustrating.

Yea, but at least it's progress...lol. I'm working on the black (marine) vinyl for the dash and underscuttles while I'm dinking with the electrics of the car. Pictures to come as they get done.

Heck, by the time I'm done with Christine, I'll almost be able to write a manual...lol.

Hey MM.....just saw this thread and thought it looked great.

I think I and others would be pretty disappointed if you didn't do a proper "how to" write up complete with pics for the wood veneer and headlining at some point

Lookin forward to seeing them and adding them to the FAQ's.....no pressure....lol

Thanks for the compliments Jim, et al.

I was actually going to do that at some point, Jim. Would I do it on this thread, or would I start a new thread?

The guy I was supposed to be getting the veneer for the dash from seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth...good thing I didn't pay him up front for the veneer.

So, I'm not sure, at this point, where I'll get the other veneer from, but I'm sure I'll find it somewhere. By the way, I'm almost done with the console and other small pieces with the burl on them. I'll do that write up and post pictures when I get the lacquer (not to be confused with liquor) on the stuff I have done thus far.

Hey there MM.....please start a new thread if / when you do the write up c/w pics as a " how to " and then we can FAQ it.....if its up to scratch of course
That way its a clean thread only about the topic in question and people can easily see what they wanna see.

Nate. I still would check into the "band-it" company I mentioned. Their veneer is real wood and you can purchse preglued applied with household iron. It will conform to slight to moderate contours. Once glued it stays in place with no shrinkage! Very user friendly. If you go to Homie D or the other one, they carry the veneer in oak and melamine.

I'll give em a holler and see if they carry the walnut burl for dashboards and if it will withstand the heat.

I haven't been able to spend much money on the interior so far because of other things going wrong.

I'll post a few new pics of small things I've done.

Just a thought, why not try to get onto Jag Po, apparently he used to have a high end woodworking business, so maybe he would be able to give some positive advice.

Stick with it, mate I know it must seem like everything is against you right now.

You're right about that, Rich...I've been cussing the Jaguar gods for weeks now...lol. I'll ask JagPo about that. Heck...if he IS "po," maybe he'd be willing to do some stuff for me later on.

I for one would read a write up on this as I was planning on doing this to the Range Rover's wood when I get home.
