Ultimate Pedals Group Buy

I am also certain that the buyer will be responsible for adding any color via paint to the footrest Jaguar "R" logo. All dead pedals will be cut from an aluminum block.....aircraft grade billet aluminum alloy 6061-T6.

Yes, there is an extra charge for making the pocket for the emblem, but it's not a lot.
Emblem digitizing and pocketing cost was $40 for my "R" emblem.

That was my thought, to mybe have a indentation ( female ) of the badge and then epoxy the badge into place ,if it was placed down 2 or 3 cen meters below the surface and clear coated or clear epoxy over it should not wear the paint off.

Yes it seems you can either have something engraved into it like richzak had done or have them cut a pocket for an inlaid object, such as an R badge. If you click on their "Pedal Options" tab there is a custom pocketing animation that plays at the top of the page to illustrate what this involves.
Vector, best of luck with the sale! And post some pictures of that inlay when you receive your set. I'll post some of mine too after the install. Which exotic Italian are you looking into, or have you not decided on a specific model?

I ordered my full set with the "R" inlay in the dead pedal, $162.50 shipped.
I have always liked the Mondial. It is big enough for me, I'm 6'4" and the early ones are fairly reliable and easier, but not cheap, to maintain.
It took me three years to find and buy my Jag, so I am not in a hurry.

Rear set: C2S38987
Front Set: C2S35350
I paid about $115 for mine shipped from JPLV, which was the cheapest I saw them for.
My car is coming back from the shop tomorrow, the same day my set arrives. Needless to say I'll be installing them right away with pictures to follow. I ordered the same set as you except I got the rubber inserts on all of mine

I got mine last Friday and installed them Saturday morning. I'm pretty impressed with the quality and the fit. My only complaint was that I had to install each of those tiny rubber grips myself which took me about a half hour of tedious labor, but I suppose that's not really an issue compared to the result.

Received my XKR Dead pedal today.....looks great....exactly as ordered...premium work.....high quality product. I am very well pleased.
Thanks "Robert" at Ultimate Pedals for working with our group for special pricing.
Also, how are you attaching the dead pedal?
One user stated he used self tapping screws.
Are we safe to start a small hole with a drill bit then use the self tappers?
Is there any wiring under the area where the dead pedal drill holes would be? that might cause damage?

Thanks guys!
Hi guys.
I've been reading this forum for the past four years.
Finally got myself my dream car, see sig.
Just posted in the new member section.
Wanted to stop by here next, as this thread is what got me off my butt and registered here on the forum.
These pedals look great!
I just emailed Robert at Ultimate Pedals so I can order a set for my XJR.
I am going to have the "R" logo engraved into the dead pedal and have them powdercoated at my local shop.
Thanks for the great forum!
Stewart
p.s. I'll post up some pics when I get mine.

Installation Tips
I installed my custom footrest/dead pedal on 2/28/2013, before the group buy began. I designed it to match the OEM brake and gas pedal covers that were standard equipment on my 2009 XKR Portfolio:
The slots are recessed, and don't go all the way through. I filled the slots with self-adhesive semi-circular tubular weatherstrip from Home Depot - Frost King Weatherseal, $5.67 Frost King E/O 5/16 in. x 17 ft. Black EPDM Rubber Foam Weatherseal-V25BK at The Home Depot
One thing I've noticed is how much bigger that area feels with the dead pedal compared to when it was just carpet. I know the space is the same but I think the increased firmness and more solid feeling under foot gives the illusion of a larger footrest area. Also, I can't tell that there are rubber inserts because the dead pedal feels perfectly flat under my foot. The inserts are hollow and compress from the weight of my foot. Since the sides can't be seen, you can't tell that it is a piece of hollow semi-circular rubber tubing.
It is now 7 months later and the footrest still looks new. The self-tapping screws are still holding firm, but I had one piece of rubber tubing come loose a couple of weeks ago and I had to replace it. It took less than 2 minutes to pull the old piece off, cut a new piece to the correct length, and stick it back on.
The footrest adds the touch of class the factory forgot. Plus, I no longer have to see (and clean) my dirty ivory carpet.
Stuart
p.s. Richzak just posted an installation tip on the XK/XKR forum that I wanted to reiterate here. In addition to the self-tapping screws, he used industrial strength Velcro to secure the footrest to the carpet. That should keep the footrest secured, even if the screws come loose. Wish I had thought of that before I installed mine!

I think they don't pre-install the rubber bits because they want to let customers determine for themselves how many of those to fit and in what pattern?
Sets are looking extremely good. I should stalk this subsection more, some of those options tempt me. I already got my metal pedals, though, I don't think I'll replace them for some small difference.

Pedals Installed
I finally got around to putting these on today.
I had to do some "fitting." The gas pedal had too much arch and I had to flatten it a bit. The brake pedal came to me dead flat and I had to put some significant bend on it to get it to fit properly.
I think the "R" emblem looks great, Robert did a great job on the pocket for the emblem.
I am very pleased with the result. It looks very OEM and is probably the way Jag should have fitted the car from the factory.
