96 xjr supercharged.
Hi whats the best way to get more power from this car say 500bhp.
Mods so far are:
Smaller charger pully
Larger bottom pully
Remap
Straight through exhaust
New injectors
Pannel filter.
Im debating wether to twin charge the car by adding a turbo has it been done before?
Thanks

322 hp to 500 hp is quite a leap...55% increase!
Look for postings from and/or contact "XJREngineer". He posts here and probably has more experience modifying the XJR/6 than anyone

I've fitted the Eaton M112 supercharger from the XJRV8 to my XJR6. It was quite a major project, similar to fitting a Lysholm screw compressor, though not as effective.
The AJ16 base engine has plenty of potential for a major performance upgrade. I'm planning a twin turbo upgrade on a second XJR6. I see no reason why it shouldn't deliver in excess of 500bhp.
I'm assuming your car is an auto. A conversion to the Getrag 290 manual transmission makes quite a difference to the vehicle performance. Only 102 RHD manual cars were built.

Twin Charging isn't really an advantage
As I've learned through several years of forced induction experience, supercharging is phenomenal for brutal low end torque, but turbocharging is where it's at for max power. Superchargers tend to be hard to upgrade to a larger sizes versus a turbo in which you can easily swap out to a larger unit utilizing the same flange.
I'd say throw in some new cams and valves as head work can easily yield 60+ HP. If you don't mind spending, convert it over to turbo, go Megasquirt and run a GT35/40 and really exploit the capabilities of that engine.
