Primary Timing Chain Wedges - 303-533

I'm pretty sure this is what they are. I don't have them. I used one of my plastic trim wedges. Worked very well and they're cheap. Amazon has a set of trim wedges for 11 dollars.

Someone mentioned using a couple of screwdrivers for that job.

That's what I've been doing, but for completeness I'd like to make some wedges ala Jaguar...

If you fit the newer metal body primary tensioners then they will ratchet out and NOT retract without holding the lever. The tools were used with the plastic tensioners that had 'o'rings and check valves.

Once the new primaries are released you won't get much between the tensioner and the guide blade. You might try some feeler gauges or really small wedges.

Are the newer metal ones well into the supply pipeline now or are the older plastic likely to popup at the door?

I have a Ford Dealer local to me so I just get the metal tensioners from them. They are a little cheaper than the Jaguar ones.
