Hi to everyone, i would like to know if anyone here knows the specs for the intercooler water pump that is installed on the STR's (flow rates,pressure,etc...) Mine has a cracked housing where the impeller is located. I think i may have found an aftermarket substitute, but need the specs for a similar match in performance. Here's a website, on the page look at the bottom three pumps.

I've used the ITT bilge style pumps with a flex-vane impeller on another car for about 25 years. I replaced it once though there are impeller repair kits. But these aren't really meant to be run full time which is the case in the STR. I've already located a magnetic drive pump (no shaft seals) for the next replacement on that other car but I don't know the specs required on the STR to know if it would be suitable. I sure like the idea.
It might be worth an investigative look?
here's one http://www.ittflowcontrol.com/marine...-item12789.htm
A max of 185F for the collant.
Is this a real issue?
Does the pump suck from the bottom of the heat exchanger or push through the top?
Here are the specs on the commonly utilized Bosch replacement pump

There aren't any temp ratings from Bosch and I don't know how to covert their flow specs for a comparison.
Examples of application:
Application
Please contact us if the pumps
are to be used for fluids other
than water.
Type
Centrifugal pumps with mag-netic
coupling, no seal between motor and pump, therefore leak-free. Note!
These water-circulating
pumps are not self-priming.

So these are magetic drive as well!

Lasts a long time in the Ford application, dies fast on the Mercedes.
The difference is Ford mounted it vertically, and Mercedes mounted it horizontally. The brushes wear out in that orientation.
Johnson pumps are a popular upgrade.
