Good luck Also for you!
Forget about it, I just lean more towards content instead of the package when it comes to performance upgrades, each to their own !

You used a capital I in Icon, it must be in lower case, that is why it doesn't show, here it is for you :

Look, if we are talking about a performance engine here, specs are important. By not disclosing or if its such a secret how much power it's making, in my eyes its no more than a novelty engine pretty to look at, unless proven different. I would be surprised if it makes more power than my modified XKR
And receiving a letter from a vendor that sold you the engine, well it's a glorified "thank you for your purchase" card

Andre and Alex,

Hey Guys, grow-up a little and get off Lucas' Rear-end! It's his Money, so let him spend it the way he wants!

Personally, I'm tried of all the "BS" both of you are throwing back and forth all over the place! Its uncomfortable and isn't healthy and pretty Shameful... Granddad always said, "If you can't say something nice don't say it!"

Come on Guys!

@Bprice36,
See post 41, that is where I left it in nice way. Obviously there is more, but just like your granddad always said i'll refrain from that.

I just wonder why we are talking about " RSR engine" since that's just normal V8 block re-sleeved by them to 92mm. Nothing else. ( post #4 ) Several forum members have same type of overbored blocks. Any good machinery shop can do that with darton or Westwood ductile iron liners. I got ported heads from Apex Racing's old stock ( way cheaper than made by local shop ) .but I do not think or even care my engine is somehow " Apex " one. . RSR as well as Apex are out of Jaguar AJ33/34 racing so they have had some parts for many, many years and of course it's good that they have found some guys who can use them. Otherwise they would have gone to junk yard. Below we can see real " RSR engine " made for race use. Cheers.

I have not read any "BS" being thrown back and forth. The engine building community on this forum is very curious about the details of this engine and what its performance capabilities are. Out of curriostity and sharing of ideas, we want hard data and information that may help us in the future with our engine modifications and builds. Luca's initial post implies that his engine build will be something special because it is associated with RSR Racing. We would love to have details of the engine build and its performance shared with us.
It is an expensive and time consuming project to rebuild a 4.2L Supercharged AJ-8. Increasing these engines HP is proving to difficult. It is common knowledge that installing a Kenne Bell Supercharger is the best way to achieve more HP on a bored out AJ-V8. We are all currious what gains can be made using a modified Eaton M112.

I will give an example that bothers me about AVOS's and Luca's engine builds. AVOS has posted image of his pistons. He questions the best alloy to use and why his builders use the shape they did on the piston tops. AVOS's builders did not consider the shape of the head's dome shape and quench pads between the valves. (How does this piston shape effect performance, power and reliability?)
If you look at the images of Luca's CPS piston tops, you will see that they put in the quench pads on top of the pistons, but the pad shapes do not exacly match the cylinder head shape. From my perspective, this is a bad thing. On the CPS pistons, to achieve the specified compression ratio, the pistons have a CNC'd cut out region that is lower than the rest of the piston. I wonder how this affects combustion in the cylinders, and if it will become a carbon build up area and lead to hot or cold spots on top of the pistons eventually affecting engine life and performance.

In other images of Luca's engine I see details I question about the engine build that makes me want to know why they did what they did. Do some of these lack of attention to details really matter? If they don't, then why? If they do matter, then why weren't they implemented on this engine build?

Luca has restored a very beautiful and fantastic car. I hope he get to enjoy driving it.

Tijoe,

You're the first Forum Member I've read from Kalispell....I deal with Torrent Flood each day and have been told quite often about how beautiful the Area is....Hope you enjoy it as much as some of the People I deal with up there! I've always wanted to see Lake Flat-Head or Flathead Lake, which ever!

I'm sorry that you don't think their "Back and Forth" is not BS! But that's your opinion and I respect it....! I think you know my opinion..... I've been hearing this stuff ever since Chevvy came out with the 265 V8 and it gets old after a while....and that has been a while!

This thread has stalled with a difference of opinion over revealing performance data and it is not going to make any further effective progress.

THREAD CLOSED
