Performance mods for the 4.2?
#21
I think your expectation is a little on the high side. If you get 375 hp @ the rear wheels you should be happy. Chris shoiuld explain how a 2.5 to 3.0lb pulley comes close to those numbers. I have done quite a few of the pulley upgrades with the ECU reflash & it is a nice improovement but no where near 500hp.

You are correct the engine is 400hp @ the crank, if you change the pulley you add app 20-25 hp & the free flow cats add a bit possibly 10hp. The rear exhaust you installed is just a resonater no real power increase just a nicer sound. As I said I am quite familiar with the upgrades you have done & the car really feels much better in the midrange as you are getting more boost sooner. You should ask Chris @ Mina what he is basing the power increase on or is he just assuming the numbers. If you contacat Phil @ Eurotek Designs in New York he can program your computer Automotive Tuning and Electronic Engineering. ECU programming and tuning This with your other upgrades should give you a real 450hp. Anything beyond that is a figment of your imagination. You are in Florida & heat is the worse thing for a supercharged car, you may want to consider water methanol injection, it is quite simple to install & you can use your washer resevoir for the tank. This will help cool the charge & decrease your power losses due to the heat. Enjoy your car as it is a great automobile.
