bwj, you need to double your post count (think double digits) and full access will be restored. If you don't want to wait, say hi to a few new members, tell us a joke, etc.
We've got the sticky at the top of the new member section (says something like Please Read or something) if you'd like to read up on our new spam prevention safeguards.

While I dont want to stir the pot, as an owner/admin of a number of forums (Not Jag related) for over 15 years, the 10 post minimum makes sense. While it may upset a few people stopping spam and unwanted posts is a sensible idea.
As a new poster, I noted tha I coldnt see pics so went looking as to why, and found the answer in the new members area - Somewhere I hadnt vistited initally.
So maybe a standard message or PM to visit the initial page after subbing outlining the New Members area would be sensible. However in saying that, how many people actually read download user acceptance pages when they download new software? Id guess not many (LIke me). And as the 10 post minimum doesnt stop people from actually posting, well.....
I cant see any easy way around this but have to say that I support the 10 post minimum even if its not an ideal situation.

thanks zero, we do appreciate the positive comments when we mostly get criticism for its implementation.
For awhile, we were all getting PMs with spam content, something that ran off many-a good members. Right now, I'm lobbying for a simple statement in a registration confirmation email with a link to the New Member Thread about posting limitations, hopefully won't get lost in the 'quick click' to get started and never be read.
Have a great weekend!

I'm glad to have seen the post limit number leaked out here. It's low enough that I will now make an effort to get over the limit to full access. There's a few TSB's that I would like to look at. Also, I have the typical (so I found out) air conditioner clutch problem with my 2003 X-type and need to post a few questions over on that forum. BTW, this is a really great forum. And, JimC64 (love your pictures), please translate some Scottish for me, what is a Lum?

Hey there, zeroalpha / setex....thanks for the positive comments, makes a nice change
We all do our best for this site for everyones sake and generally speaking most members seem happy, so its all good.
Setex....."Lum" is a chimney...lol
"Lang may yer lum reek" is a Scottish salutation essentially wishing long life and happiness....literally means, long may your chimney smoke!
Just checked setex and you now have full access

Now that "Wi'ther folks coal" part doesn't surprise me in the least. There is scottish blood in my family and I recognize that part! (We have been there, too, and I would love to get back for a longer tour.)
Reminds me of a very interesting sign I saw in a Scottish tourist shop in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada: "If it not be Scottish, it be craaaaap."
Thanks for the full access, JimC64.
