How to: Post pictures
#21
I have been trying to use your instructions under "how to post pictures with a thread". Followed all steps and after hitting upload for a jpg picture stored in my computer I watched the computer until it stopped working. Then hit close window and nothing showed up in my thread box. Nee help?

It worked ok for me.
Are you using the insert image button or the attachment button?
If you are uploading from your hard drive you will need to add the file as an attachment you also need to be in advanced reply not quick reply mode.
Hope that helps.

Gang I have to say that the techniques outlined above are pretty complicated.
Have never been to upload photos on this site from my computers and I don't like putting my pics on 3rd party sites or clouds.
I have a much easier way to insert photos.
I email them to myself on gmail.
Copy the photos out of the email and then just paste them in the message.
I may never figure out how to add photos to my garage or signature but at least I can share some this way with the rest of you.
cheers,
jj

We'll start with Mai Tais and go through Rusty Nails.
Seriously, this is a very old thread, and the forum software has been upgraded since.
We will look at the various image instruction threads and hopefully bring things up to date.
It is now really quite simple, just a few clicks, depending on what you are trying to do, or where the image is coming from.
There is a VB link in my signature, but even this is more complicated than it needs to be.
Give us a little time.
Meanwhile, if you are stuck, send a PM, outlining the problem, and the browser you are using. We will help you, but this will also help us to identify any problems.

Remembered, a while back RegentV12 made a pictorial tutorial about posting pictures direct from a PC.
Here is the link. Posting Pictures.
This should help.

Can I rearrange photos in my Garage?
Photos in the garage seem to put the last photo first. For example, if I want to show before and after pictures, they come out backwards. For my initial garage photos, I added them in reverse order, but in the future, new photos will be before the old ones. This wouldn't be a problem if I could rearrange the photos after posting them. Any way to drag and drop?

Click the Paper clip jobbie in the tool bar to the right of the smiley face.
Click Browse in the window that opens.
Find the Pic on your computer.
Click Upload. Wait for it to upload.
Thats it.
When you hit Submit reply, you will now have a thumbnail pic.
But if you want a big pic in your post.
BEFORE you hit Submit Reply.
Right click on the IMGblahblah and left click Copy Image/link location.
Now Left click the Mountain/insert image icon in the top tool bar.
Use CTRL +V to paste your copied link.
Click OK.
Click Submit.
The pic below was inserted in less time than it took to type the instructions.
