How to: Post pictures
#43
I can't make this work - if I download an attachment, the copy and paste its address using the 'Mountain' I get both a big picture and a thumbnail of the attachment.
If I go back into edit and remove the attachment that seems to delete the URL of the image - although this method worked in 'count to 10,000 in pictures'
What am I doing wrong?

Did you manage to make the big image of the purple cow work yourself or was it some stealth performed by Richard?
I've tried all combinations of insert / mountain / cut&paste and cannot get a full size image from a JPG stored on my PC.

Graham,
What I did was to go into advanced, manage attachments, downloaded my jpeg as an attachment then when it had uploaded R click on the filename and select 'Copy URL' - the file actually gets stored in JF.
Then get to the Mountain and do a Ctrl-V to paste the file's URL and that's it.
What you can't then do is go back into 'manage attachments' and remove the attached file - that deletes the JF URL so you have to put up with having an attachment icon.
Does that make sense?
I think if you copy + paste this URL into the Mountain you'll get the Purple Cow in your post

arlandgreen's Uploads on Photobucket.com
This is the photo bucket url for my pix. When I try to type anything below the picture the 4 sites you show are grayed out and I can't paste the url in between the img's. Any advice?

arland, instead of copying the thumbnail pic.
1) mouse over thumbnail (in your photobucket acct.), you will see "IMG Code", left click the image code in the rectangle (it will automatically save).
2) go to the thread you want to inset pic, right click and "paste"
3) the code NOT picture appears, while typing post, continue typing post under code. Press "Preview Post" before posting to thread and the majic happens.
4) press "Post Thread"
5) very nice pic thank you for sharing
6) hope this helps!

Steve,
They've been doing very well in your absence. I now have a whole herd of them.
