Default Idea on the spammers thing...

Whoever is the first to report a suspected spammer, simply put "reported" as a reply...that way we don't overload the mods and admins with reports...lol. Sound cool?

That will be fine motor, we don't often get multiples, but it does happen. I appreciate the idea.

decent call MM with the "reported" reply.
I quite often get 2 or 3 pm's about the same user which does take a little more time to go through as until you open it, you're not sure exactly whats what.
Having said that, I'd rather get 2 or 3 pm's to make sure than none at all, but your idea certainly makes sense.....nice one

K...so I haven't seen any spam pm's for a little while, anyone else since the changes??

Also - I've added @mail.ru as a spam email address which I think may help. I noticed that a large portion of spammers were using this and 99% if not 100% of them were all spammers, so that should help cut them down a little as ALL members trying to join with that in their email address will not be allowed to register.

I've noticed that another favourite seems to be @gmail.com and I'm currently looking into this. I have heard a few people speak about this though and would need to be as sure as possible before any move can be made so as not to ban any of our good / long standing members!

If anyone else notices any trends like this please let me know as it may be something else to look at in future

I've resorted to setting up a gmail.com address creation so I can get the forum notifications. My att.net addy won't accept them anymore after the forum update.
