Jaguar Mk9 Project

Jaguar Mk9 Project
Hi all, I need some advice please. I lost my husband last year to cancer - he was 63, recently retired and had planned to restore his Mk9 Jaguar 1960. About 30 years ago he removed the engine - all present and correct I understand in various crates so obviously needs complete restoration. How do I go about selling this? This is a link to photos Flickr: peter.perfect's Photostream - ignore the TR photos (which was his other project) as I will have to contact TR register to sort that one.

Elaine,
I'm sorry for your loss.
I must also apologise for missing this thread in the Jaguar Forums Advice / Feedback & Suggestion Center section. The section is for forum help and not for tech questions which is why it will have received as many views without a response.
For advice from members with the same model, I've moved it to the MK V - X section where it will be seen by members with relevant knowledge.
Restoring a Jaguar of this era is a major project both in time and money. Undoubtedly there will be people interested in taking on such a restoration but there won't be too many of them.
Your options really come down to:
1. sell as a complete car, stripped ready for full restoration
2. sell as spares
In its current condition, it's not going to be worth a large amount and the maximum return is possibly more likely to come from option 2. However, I expect you would prefer to have someone complete the work as your late husband intended.
Let's see what input comes from the tech section experts here before speculating further.

While SNG Barrett makes some body repair panels for the MKIX, too many panels on your car are going to need repair. I suspect that is why you are not getting any replies. You may have better luck selling the car as a parts car. The interior looks good in the photos, but the rust repair needed will be too much for the average person wanting to do a restoration project.
A nice driver can be had for $14,000 - 20,000 US. The problem is doing all that has to be done for no more than a nice driver could be bought. The MKIX that I am restoring was bought for $1,000 US I don't know if any of this has been helpful to you in setting an asking price. Best of luck.
