MKV Hand Brake

MKV Hand Brake
I am building a Special using a MKV Diff.
E.N.V.Fixed Pivot type Brakes.
Need to remove Hand Brake Cable from Operating Cylinder.
Ref. Workshop Manual Section L. Page L.27
Remove set screw and lock washer securing brass end cover to operating cylinder and withdraw cover to expose inner cable securing nut.
DONE.
USING A SCREWDRIVER UNSCREW NUT ANTI-CLOCKWISE AGAINST SPRING LOADED PEG WHICH WILL ENABLE THE INNER CABLE TO BE DISCONNECTED FROM THE OUTER END OF THE HYDRAULIC OPERATING PLUNGER.
This is where I am having a challenge.
Don't want to damage anything.
Any advice?
