Description:

1973 Jaguar XJ-6 Series 1. Excellent original condition. Silver exterior. Black leather interior. 38,800 original miles, did not circle past 100k. Series 1 are the original XJ6, has a better front end look than the following series.

Interior:
Amazing condition for its age. Rear seat basically never used. Passenger seat rarely used. Drivers seat very good condition. Carpets perfect. Dash wood very good with slight cracking to varnish. Headliner replaced and perfect. I would give the interior 9 out of 10 points.

Exterior:
Faded silver but looks overall good. At shows people normally say they like the paint. No bad rust. This was a California car for the bulk of its life. I bought it there and shipped it here. One family car, passed through family as the relatives died. Bought new by a guy's elderly mother. She died and he got the car. He hardly drove it, then he died. It sat in his widow's garage for 12 years, then I bought it. It never sat in the sun, never drove in the rain or snow, and it shows. Rare to find a Jag of this vintage so clean. Has a small amount of rust at the forward drivers side rocker, but it is simple to correct.

Drive train:
Starts and runs well. Never starts hard, but likes to warm up. Drives well. Brakes well. Automatic transmission. Tires are old. AC does not work. I drive the car only to keep it lubricated and functioning, and to the British car days car show. I replaced the steering rack rubber bushings with polyurethane bushings, so steering is tight, very sporty. Exhaust is good. Engine compartment is not as beautiful as the rest of the car, could use some elbow grease.

Chrome:
Looks great for the most part. It is original and has some pitting/haze that you can only see from up close on the bumpers and rims. Chrome around the doors is perfect. Grill and headlight rings are great.
