Boot/Trunk Opening Improvements (weak springs and 50% increase opening height)
- Spring Assist Kit, keeps Boot/Trunk open without a manual prop
- Extended Hinge Kit, allows Boot/Trunk to open an extra 50% ( from 42 degrees to 67 degrees-- 31" to 45")
Kits ordered now will be available late December early January .. Billing will occur when kits are ready to ship.

1a. OEM Trunk Spring Assist Strut Kit (Single Strut)* $34 including S&H
1b. OEM Trunk Spring Assist Strut Kit (Dual Strut) $56 including S&H
2. 50% Extended opening Trunk Kit $146 including S&H
3. Extended Opening and Dual Spring Assist Kit $192 including S&H
* Not recommended if you are planning on using Extended Opening Kit
International Shipping will be $20-25 more

· You will need to measurement of OEM hinge arm 5/16" hole above 2" side of trunk shelf 10 - ½", 11- ¼"or 11- 3/4" (push Lid to full open before measurement)(See Post #46 for how to measure)

1. Weak springs - Spring Assist Kit, keeps Boot/Trunk fully open to OEM height (28-32") without a manual prop
2. 50% Increased opening - Extended Hinge Kit, allows Boot/Trunk to open an extra 50% ( from 42 degrees to 67 degrees-- 31" to 46")
Thanks to Elinor's and Bill's installations, several dimensional differences between the XJ6 models have been sorted out
Hinge extension parts have been ordered from machine shop, and will be available 3rd week of January for shipment .
Billing will occur when kits are ready to ship.
We have 3 members that have show positive interest and 3 that are leaning. The final quantity can be adjusted if more members are interested
So please ask questions if you are interested in either solution, or both.

Machined parts for Hinge Extensions kits, along with correct length and strength struts kits have been received and are ready to ship. First three kits with firm orders will go out this weekend. Three kits are unspoken for at this point, if you are interested, see Marketplace or send PM for detailed response to your specific XJ6 condition.

Five Hinge Extensions kits, along with correct length and strength,struts kits have been successfully installed.
Two Hinge Extensions kits remain available from first production run.
If you are interested, send PM for detailed response to your specific XJ6 conditions, if you have weak boot/trunk springs causing lid to fall closed.
