Description:

Hi everyone, I am hunting bigger game now, and it is with a heavy heart that I must let go of my beautiful big cat! I've priced it lower on the Jaguar Forums here than the other auto groups I'm on because I know you all are family and true enthusiasts - I would love to see it go to a deserving home with one of you.

You all know me: this car has been my baby, my pride and joy since I purchased her a year and a half ago. At just 55,649 miles, this is a low mileage example given its 2008 vintage, and I've enjoyed about 20k of those miles of unwavering, trouble-free service in the past 18 months. Elegant optional packages round out the check boxes on this one and include:

  • Adaptive Bi-Xenon headlights
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • $2,500 Wood Luxury Package with
    • Softgrain tan leather seats
    • Heated front luxury sport bucket seats
    • Softgrain leather door trim panels
    • Heated leather steering wheel
    • Leather gear shift knob
    • Automatic power-folding mirrors.
Make no mistake, this is a unique, attention-stealing car! Literally every day I get envious stares, thumbs-up, knowing nods, and comments from other drivers and passer-by on the street. If you like the sense of satisfaction and positive ownership experience that comes with constantly receiving kudos for your exquisite taste in luxury autos, then this will surely fill that spot.

People simply love a Jaguar, and in a regal emerald green color, the sensuous curves and lines just flow like the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, delighting everyone who sees it. This car has opened up so many conversations and doors with enthusiasts, business associates, and colleagues that I'd never have been privy to otherwise. I've spared no expense in maintaining it and updating it, to the tune of a bit over $10,000 in maintenance and appearance upgrades over the past year and a half. Highlights include:
  • New air filters, MAF sensors cleaned, and oil changed January 2019 at local European specialists - $480
  • Bushings and rotted rubber boots replaced by local European specialists in September 2019 yielding major handling improvements - $2,1000
  • Better-than-OEM cryogenically treated rotors and EBC Red Stuff brake pads up front last year - $400+
  • EBC Red Stuff rear brake pads on-hand, will provide with sale
  • Brand new all-season tires purchased and professionally installed from On-Site Tire December 2018. Very good tread left! - $1,000+
  • Professional major service including transmission fluid change and coolant change + fuel rails and airboxes cleaned in May 2018 - $1,400
  • OEM-style XKR-S body kit added last year from Jaguar specialists at Mina Gallery
  • Refinished the wheels to remove curb rash. Powder coated stunning bronze-gold metallic flake to complement deep emerald green color May 2019 - $450
  • Ceramic window tint - driver, passenger, and rear glass May 2019
  • Full set of H&R lowering springs included - not installed
  • Supercharger oil changed - November 2019
  • Replaced the full passenger side adaptive front AFS headlight assembly in January after a fault prevented it from leveling (diagnosed at Stevinson Imports in Denver) - $800+
  • Custom power multi-position tinted glass sun-roof - $800-$1,200 option at the dealer.
  • Hard-wired Uniden late model extreme long-range radar, laser, and MFRC detector included if I get near my asking price - $300
All is not perfect with a pre-owned car, of course: the headliner has started to sag, as is very common with these cars. It's not very noticeable to me and over time I've forgotten about it, but I do want to mention it. According to other owners on the Jaguar Owners Forums, getting a professional shop to restore it is about $600 or so. I can factor that into the final price if it's a concern, or can arrange, once payment is made, to have the headliner professionally restored by a shop locally before you take delivery of the car. I will also provide the buyer with a printed and spiral-bound 2020 calendar from renowned Colorado automotive photography studio Black Fox Media, where your new XKR is the featured model for June!

",,,Bigger game...would you consider a '16 F type R convertible?

Also in green, BRG metallic. Under 15 K miles, Jaguar warranty through Feb '22 or 100k miles.

Did you do the wheels or wrap first?

I'm curious if you have pictures with the gold wheels and red car.

They were done at the same time in preparation for a dream car road trip with my buddy in the blue Aston Martin in the images. The only known image I have is from the wrap shop before they started the job. I think that the gold bronze on red cars can look very good (Google some of the Ferraris and BMW M4s with bronze-gold on red) but personally I would shoot for a thinner multi-spoke wheel for that. The larger, stronger spokes here work exceptionally well with the green color so I didn't invest in a whole new set of wheels. To get them professionally refinished and custom powder coated was only $450, so if you don't like them, you can take them back to stock for very little money.

Those are very nice cars. I actually looked into an F-Type R, I think they're some of the best-looking cars ever made. However, I decided that if I'm spending upwards of $50k I'm going to shoot for one of my childhood dream cars and get a Ferrari.

Interior freshly detailed and cleaned yesterday - $300!!!

Interior freshly detailed and cleaned - it's mint

Interior freshly detailed and cleaned - it's mint

Interior and engine bay detailed yesterday plus some extra love on the outside! Going into the shop on Friday to resurface and re-wrap the splitter (steep grades on drives here have rubbed the underside).

what a beautiful car and I also live in Denver and sadly have never seen it. Can I ask where you had your wheels refinished. I have a 2001 xk8 and would like to get mine redone. good luck on your sale.

Awesome car — and killer pics! It's on the front page, so hopefully it helps you with eyeballs. Good luck with the sale.

Hey, PM me your contact info and let's meet up for a beer or better, a mountain drive! Happy to show you the car and see what you've got. I think I've only seen 6 XKs in Colorado so far, and none of them like mine. :-D

As for the wheels, they were done by a professional wheel shop in Dallas - ran about $450 for the complete refinishing and powder coating.

fng, what did the XK RS kit include? Did it also make engine mods to 550 HP?

It's the XKR-S body kit, so no performance mods. The XKR-S was only available in this style one year before they did the massive face-lift overhaul version of it later. This kit forms the basis of the Speed Pack and Black Pack body kits too, I believe. It's the front splitter, rear aero, and side skirts. Really makes the car look sharper. You could get the mods for a bump to ~510hp with a pulley upgrade, ECU tune and airflow remap, and exhaust. Runs between $2,000-$3,000 total depending on the exhaust option you go with.

Thank you, fng. The interior pics are terrific, yet I did not notice the custom sunroof. Could you attach some pics of it too, showing the multi-positions, and the sag in the headliner? Which tires did you choose?

You can find pics of the sunroof in the thread here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...0/#post2006773

I have some videos of the sunroof functioning on my other phone that I can send later today.

Tires are BFGoodrich G-Force Comp 2s

Here’s a video demonstration of the sunroof working, and you can see the slight headliner sag. also attached two images of the sunroof here.

Fully extended sun-roof with the screen retracted so you can see the inside :-)

The sunroof fully retracted, screen still in place.

Fully closed.
