The wood trim was not in good shape, and if I could give you any advice about XJS cars, is that wiring in engine area is brittle and should not be reused. Paul's Jaguar in Florida has new wiring available.

How about ignition coils and the little brains mounted above the radiator.

Buy new coils, as no guarantee on the ones we pulled. What are you calling "Little Brains? Post a picture.

First of all, you guys are going to Heaven in my book for this act of kindness. XJS organ doner. Ha.

Stupid, I know…… but some type of gasket is missing from my rear license plate lights. I have two little clear lenses, but they are just flopping around back there. I have recently purchased. Thx.

I used clear silicone to seal mine. I suppose you could also trace and cut out some thin rubber gasket material to seal.

Temporarily, I ended up cutting a pattern from the web pic and cutting out of a thin piece of Lexan. Drilled holes in lexan for screws to attach to the bracket and siliconed the clear lenses to the Lexan. A tip from "The Book" was that those clear lenes (just the lens, not the gasket) are available from Triumph/MG shops for like $3 US. It's crazy that the Jag OE items are $55 a piece.
