    Karl,
Yes the ride is smooth. I have adjustable QA1 shocks so over time I increased the rebound so it does not float as much yet not too stiff since it is a Jaguar It is a perfect daily driver. I am just about done updating some suspension parts more for looks since I am installing a new custom gas tank, and am updating my train horns with a new compressor and custom tank. I will post pictures next week some time.

Thanks, 600 seems reasonable considering that your engine is much lighter. Since you drive your car so much I guess you have choosen a quite comfortable setup?

    Karl,

I am sorry but I cannot remember the rating of my front springs but somehow I think it might have been around 600? Since you have adjustable shocks that should help a lot to hopefully tune it to your liking? The aluminum block V8 I installed was about 200lbs lighter than the stock Jaguar 6.

    Hello Primaz!

I´m considering changing the front springs to coombs Heavy duty road spring sold by mcwilkingson:
    https://mcwilkinson.myshopify.com/pr...ad-springs-mk2

They are for the mk2 but they say that they also fit the s-type with two spacers that they can supply. The spring rate for the coombs springs are 675 lbs and the stock are rated at 425 lbs (lbs/inch I suppose..).
But I am a bit worried that the will be to stiff and ruin the nice ride, the car is a cruiser but I wan´t it a bit sportier than stock. I run GAZ GT adjustable shocks.

I wondered what spring rate you choose for your front spring and how much weight you shaved by swapping the engine?

    Thanks!

    Karl

Hello Primaz...I saw you video on YouTube. I have a 3.8S that I plan to add an LS engine to. Any advice? Motor mounts/exhaust? Any permanent modifications that you had to make. Thanks in advance. Mike

Hi - Nice 3.8. Love the conversion. I'm in Los Angeles and thinking of doing a very similar build and would appreciate some advice as to costs, timelines, things to consider, etc. Let me know if you ever sell yours too!

Hi, New member here, my name is Thang. I got myself a 65 3.8s rust bucket and in the process of rebuild/restoring it. I'm working on the suspension & brakes at the moment. Already upgraded the front brakes with vented 4 pot setup & will add a brake booster with tandem master cylinder later on. I rebuilding the rear end and replacing every rubber bushing on the car. I have a couple question about the QA1 coilover you using. Do you remember which shocks and springs you choose? The reason I ask is because I didn't measure the stock height before removing the front & rear subframe. QA1 want you to measure the stock height of the wheel well so you can have a idea of which shock to choose from. I just thought it be easier to ask you since my setup is very similar to yours. If you can remember let me know please. If not. no worries.

btw: you have very good taste in style. The car is beautiful. Hope you don't mind me replicating your seats and door panels. In love with it.

Primaz, thanks again for the tip on the tool for measuring wheel backspacing and tire clearance - I didn't know they existed. It does look like I can squeeze 255/40-18s on, but the 8 1/2" wheel width fouls the front A-frames on full steering lock. I was wondering if you have the same issue? It looks like 8" will clear with no issues, and my preference would be to step down to a 17" dia wheels but I'm not sure they would clear the steering arm ball joint since the 18" barely does. Would appreciate any thoughts. As you guessed there's plenty of room in the rear for whatever.

Are those QA1 coil overs you used? I'm debating between those (a local racer uses them all the time and speaks highly of them) or Spax, which are what I think Beacham uses. Anyway keep up the good work - I know it seems endless at this point, but you're almost home!
