It will be sometime tomorrow before I can. Working on a set I got in yesterday first thing.

    Hi Wayne,

I'd like to find out more about your upper shock mounts. My current Welsh (the newer style) ones have failed.

Can you work with these aftermarket cores?
    How long does it take?
    How much does it cost?

    Thank you,
    Kyle Disque

Wayne, After doing a little research here I understand you have a better solution for the xk8 upper shock mounts. I just went through my 3rd set of Jaguar mounts. I have a full machine shop and have been building things for years but I must admit I'm new to working on cars. That being said I'm really having fun working on my jags. I'm almost finished the job of repairing the exhaust manifold cracks on my xjr. I plan to post the entire procedure with photos soon. I tig brazed them with silicone bronze rod, after heating them to 450 in the oven and cooling them in sand for 24 hours. Then a skim on my milling machine. I'm actually in the process of moving my entire shop to another location. It will be a couple of weeks until I can get the mounts off of my xk8. But I'd like to get/read more about what you do and get my set in the queue. Thank you Sir,

Phil, I can't find where I answered your message.
I thought I did, send me your mounts as we discussed and I will get them refurbished as quick as I can.

    Send to:

Thank you. I'll check, it may have been a Email.

Thank you for the quick response Wayne,

While I do not post on the forums or any where else for that matter, I have been a member of the site for several years since I purchased my Jag.

Would it be better if I were to send my mounts out to you so that you know exactly which ones I have? I can remove them and send them out to you. I'm not in any hurry to get them back and I can leave the car apart for a while in the shop if that would work better. This would be a project for over the holiday weekend so you should get them the following week. If that works for you that is what I will plan to do.

If you give me an address I will send them out once I have them out of the car along with a check. I am assuming the price is $200 for both. If I am wrong just let me know. It's not a problem either way.

    Thanks again

Phil, you may not get this message because you have not posted a certain amount and I don't have a problem with it, but the Forum always advises against low post individuals.
If you do get this, well, I do make the mounts and at present due to generous members I have a few extras ones to rebuild. I am waiting on some parts but should have them by the middle of the next week.
The mounts plus me sending them to you are currently $200 and you pay to send me your core. Don't know how long I can keep that price but for now lets go with that.
I can do PayPal but just send me a check and that doesn't take what little profit that's in it out of my pocket. I figure just 4.5 hours on one, clean up the cores and paint, cut the sharp edges off the inside, (lots of those on most) then cut the bushing to fit which ever mount you or I have. There are four different ones and not one size fits all.
Let me know if you get this and what would you like to do. Wayne
