Given that the event is at the end of October and the beginning of November, I think we may want to put the thread up sometime in the next 30 to 45 days. I can see that a major US event such as those of JCNA could attract visitors from out-of-State. For this reason, an expiring annnouncement in all the US Region forums is a reasonable exception to the rule.

I recommend you have a single event thread in US Western Region forum with the details which can act as the focus for all posts about possible attendance etc. I can 'sticky' this so it always appears above normal threads. An expiring announcement for say a month (which I would have to setup) in the other US Regions with a link to the main US Western Region thread would raise awareness of all US members and guide them to the main thread.

We don't put meeting announcements across all forums. For example, our Admin (JimC64) has arranged a meeting in Scotland (https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...2018-a-195835/) but announcements and posts about it only appear in UK & Eire Region forum. UK Regional Co-ordinator (SteveSheldon) arranges an annual meeting in the south of England (https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...2018-a-183100/) and this similarly only appears in the UK & Eire Region forum.

The reasons for this are:
1. meetings are usually only relevant to a Region
2. multiple posts for an event are extremely difficult to manage

I'm not sure how I registered. I registered over a year ago. I may have paid a small fee but, I don't think so because I also registered for the Land Rover topix and now have access to both. I find the website good for authenticating a build and reviewing recalls and service records.
