Just found the post you were referencing. My fuel pressure sensor was pouring fuel out. I believe it's because I use ethanol 10% blend and this ate up the o-ring. The pressure sensor only had 2 screws holding it in which don't fully tighten, they just hold it in place. The o-ring does the job of keeping it tight, so when the o-ring wore out the whole thing leaking copious amounts of fuel. It would dry up by the time you went to check, only when it got really bad could you actually see fuel pouring out. Give it a jiggle and see if anything comes out. Though your car is very different from mine, not sure what type of pressure sensor you would have.

It can be a hard issue to find, I can't really remember how I fixed my issue. Checked the engine bay for any fuel leaks as the obvious first step. Then check the fuel tank and pump for leaks. After that, check the trunk for leaks that would allow the smell to enter the cabin. Sorry I can't be of more assistance.
