Pete, I'm the guy trying to find a rear window seal/gasket for my 93 XJS coupe. You mentioned the glass is broken. I just need the seal (intact). If you could remove the broken glass and extract the seal, keeping it intact (one piece) & not cut, I would really appreciate it. My XJS has been in the body shop since July. This seal is holding up the project in completion. My email is Mert25@att.net (843)=795-1578. I am in Charleston, SC. thanks, Mert

    Hi,

I was wondering if you could help me out - I see that you've changed rack bushings on a newer XJS. As I understand, instead of three 1635 bushings two are 9107. I can't find any aftermarket 9107 - did you replace them with aftermarket 1635?

    Thanks a lot,

    Alex

Petemohr, if you still have the XJS I thought to try to answer your question. I removed the ski slope from the console and removed the little 12V device that stops the gear shift from coming out of park unless the brake pedal is pushed. I also unplugged the security module in the trunk to make sure that I was not locked out again. My remote didn't work anyway. I unplugged the convertible top module to be able I could operate the top whenever I wanted to do so without having to press the foot brake and apply the parking brake. This step requires quite a lot of rewiring so if your top is working okay, probably is not something you want to do. I also wired a toggle switch into the ignition switch circuit under the driver's knee bolster in order to disable the starting circuit if I leave the car with the top down. Feel free to ask anything you want, if you need to.
    Cheers, RagJag
