Just got a 1988 XJSC. Typical story, car has no problems. When I hear that I start sweating bullets but I'm a sucker for the British sport-scars I can't afford. I've wanted an XJS since I was a kid in the 1970's. Thanks to my awesome wife who helped me get this one :-) I knew of the dead battery and rotten coolant recovery tank and was told that was all there was wrong with the car. Turns out, as usual, that was not the case. The car runs fine but a little hotter than it should. The wiper motor didn't work and upon removal I noticed the guts were shattered. So now I'm hunting for one of those. I also learned that the license plate light assemblies were gone, just a couple wires dangling there. The coolant fan kicks on but doesn't like to kick off even after an hour later. Still I love the car and might have to sacrafice my G-Scale train hobby to fix it up.
