I just read your message after all that time. Thanks for the info. I got my bumpers and over-riders done for $1600 so I guess you got a helluva deal. They came out very nicely with only one small boogie on the back side of a front over-rider which is hard to see now it is installed.
Sorry for the delay in replying

    Hi

I am really interested to know how much you had to pay to re-chrome your bumpers and who did them. I am about to get my Mk2 painted and a nice set of bumpers would be the cream on the cake!

    Thanks

I am restoring 3.4 MK2. I was wondering if either of the cars you have, being late production, are equipped with the Borg Warner 35 auto trans? If it is an auto and does not have the "intermediate speed hold" switch on the dash it is likely the model 35. It is unlikely any were sold in the U.S.. All mk2's had aftermarket A/C. Although most were distributor installed. I used the aftermarket bracket and a new "York to Sanden" adaptor to allow installation of a Sanden Rotary compressor. If you want photos let me know. I have my car completely disassembled, metal work done. I am trial fitting components then stripped and sent to paint. I am presently being held up as I have installed a Borg Warner 66 auto from an '80's XJ6 and am having problems mating it to the original "column mount" gear selector. Thanks. Bob
