Hi Jon, I am a very new member and have the following request for information posted.
It was suggested by another member that I should consider contacting you regarding the kind of info I seek.
I hope my PM finds you well and with the knowledge I seek.

    My Question;
I was wonder if there was a list of dimensions for the XKE, early S Type and XJ6 IRS's that gives the upper mounting point dimension between the shock/spring bolts?

All three IRS's that I own, are all out of the cages and I don't have any dimensions for any of the aforementioned models.

Can anybody please help me out or direct me to a chart/link etc...

I plan to install at least one of these units into a non Jaguar vehicle and will not be using a cage.
Since the lower dimension is set by the width of the lower arms, I just need to know basically at what angle the shocks sit at by getting the across dimension at the top.

    Many thanks,

    Russ.

    Hi and thanks,
I have looked on another Daimler vin plate I have,
and they have put the engine number down the same as the body number,
I ask as I have a Daimler body shell, and have found the body number,i did not get the shell with an ID,
but I do have a Daimler logbook, and as you may know, logbooks don't show body numbers,
I have got a new ID plate and want to stamp the numbers in,just want to tie it all together,
v8 engine number zf gearbox number body number and vin number,
    thanks

    Jon,

DONE - Coventy Foundation and Homersimpson's reply moved from your thread to Homersimpson's new thread.

Please check you thread - I'm in a hotel in Poitiers, France with an internet connection speed of about one byte per week so post moving is quite a challenge!

    Regards,
    Graham

It is a pain to have to do that and still not as flexible as the original insert method.

Posting a complaint/suggestion in Jaguar Forums Feedback & Suggestion Centre forum is the way to bring it to the attention of forum owner, Internet Brands techies.

I'm presently in southern Spain and will be driving back to the UK over the next two days so won't have much time, if any, on the forum.

    Regards,
    Graham

I agree - the "update" where images now auto-size to the available screen is a backwards step.

I also liked to post pictures of my chosen size throughout posts but this is no longer possible. Apparently that update and the latest "infinite scroll" provides a better experience for the increasing numbers accessing the forum though smartphones and tablets.

    Regards,
    Graham

    Hello Jon,
Where would you recommend I start the new thread on converting our Jag XK140? In the Classic XK section? Or is there another section that might get broader visibility?
    Thanks.
