    Hi, Bob,

    Those switches look like they are intact to me; kind of hard to really tell in that picture. BTW, be VERY careful trying to move the shifter with the illumination module, the lighted position indicator, loose from the assembly. That's usually how those switch levers go missing. Without the indicator as a guide, the lever can wipe the little levers right off!
    P0706 is usually one of two things, either a cable mis-adjustment, or a problem with the D-4 switch. The D-4 switch is not one on the picture, it's the other one at the front of the illumination module. It trips when the shifter goes around the J-Gate for 4, 3 and 2.
    I can't attach them here, but if you go to Gus' website, jagrepair.com, you should be able to find bulletins 307-01 and 307-05. They will help you diagnose down to the reason for the code, and properly adjust the shifter.
