    Hi Johnny,
Looks like they may have made a few of those Daimler hearses after the Queen Mother had one exactly like that specially designed for her funeral! Her car was black. Who know, may be the same the same car in a different colour?

Ironic of course that your article featured a Jaguar hearse with the passing of Her Majesty.
You would have noticed that QEII had the last XJ modified for her own funeral. This car had never been in prior service and was ready and waiting for her. She had requested extra lighting in the back as well, making sure her coffin was well illuminated.

    God Save The King!

    Hi Johnny,

I'm Paul Sinnott, an XJS owner and general Jag enthusiast. I'm also the very lucky part-owner of a 1,200 mile XJ220, so I have a real interest in anything 220! You mentioned in your article today about the question of whether anyone had converted a 220 to V12 power? Well, it has been done! Nigel Webb - a famous Jaguar aficionado who has built a Mike Hawthorn museum, had his XJ220 converted in 2015 by Don Law to a full 4-valve IMSA-spec Jaguar V12. It's beautifully finished and an awesome car. If you Google "Nigel Webb XJ220 V12" you'll easily find stuff out there on it. In the meantime here's a link to a photo of the engine:

    Keep up the good work!

    Cheers

    Paul

Saw your article on the Vanishing Point E-type. My personal favorite E-types are either the hearse in Harold and Maude, or the gorgeous red coupe in Silver Streak. Richard Pryor's line at the end: "I left my Jag in Kansas City!'
