    Many thanks for answering me.
It looks like the horn and sounder are configurable so both could be turned off on my car.
In 10 years of ownership I can’t remember them sounding.
Turn signal works so must be turned on

I have also read that the chirp form the sounder can be configured when double locking the car.

It hasn’t been a problem and I only realised they weren’t sounding after testing them after I had changed the sounder.
The Jag manuals both owner and workshop aren’t clear either as they both state maybe/could be depending on markets or configured.
The main thing is that the sounder isn’t clicking or buzzing anymore and I can live without the alarms.
I will get someone to check who has SDD in the future to see just and put my mind at rest . A fault or not.

Looks like it could be a bit hairy if it is a fault

    Thanks again

    Hi U
apologies if You had a similar message before as I wasn’t confident it went

as you are very knowledgeable on SDD would it be possible to let me know if it’s possible to deconfigure both audible alarms both the horn and sounder,
i have just changed the sounder as it was clicking but on testing it was apparent that I get no chirps on double locking or generating a full alarm by intruding when alarm set.
I am sure that in 10 years of ownership I have ever heard a audible alarm.
I have read on various threads that both can be configured not to sound. It could be that I have a fault or they are not configured to sound.

    Thanks in advance
on reading the manual it looks like if a fault it could be the CJB amongst other possibilities

What tail pipes did you have on your xkr or were they simply painted in black

Hello, you very kindly looked up some part numbers for the fixings on the under-engine plastic cover on an X350. I have ordered a pair of brackets and the curious spring-nut which appears from a hazy diagram as if it might be special. Could you look up the part no's for items 11, 3 and 2 in the diagram for me please?

When i have finished the job, I will put up a list of the bits needed to help other members. Some of them are ordinary flanged nuts and bolts so I will be using stainless, and I might be able to find standard fittings to match other bits when I have the new items in my hand. I haven't tracked down a parts list yet.

    Thanks very much

    John
