    Hey -
Just posted a new thread on the forum about my convertible top woes. I know you're the go-to on these matters - any advice on how to remedy this would be GREATLY appreciated.
    Thanks--
    Peter

    Hi Steve,
I have a 2007 XK convertible. Yesterday for the first time I had a problem with the roof. Tried putting it down. It unlatched, opened a couple of inches and i needed to manually push it half way and then it went the rest of the way on it's own. On trying to close it, initially came up really slowly, but now won't come up unless i manually help it half way.
I can hear the motor working.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Les

Hi Steve, I have spoken to you before about rear view cameras et al. I now have a used VC1-Xunit and I have your instructions. I intend to install it in the trunk near the NAV DVD player. However, after the line "The instructions are pretty clear........is needed to integrate in the XKR", I get lost. For the time being a backup camera that I can view in the NAV screen when I engage reverse is all I need. Maybe the video 2 option I can activate later. If I follow the diagram in your instructions will I succeed?
Thanks for some really great posts.

Good evening. A quick question re the procedure you recommend for my son's jag in Newport. I am sooo grateful. You suggested the following:I suggest he disconnect the negative battery cable in the Jag., then use the donor to charge the Jag.battery for at least 30 minutes with jumper cables from the donor car. Then disconnect the jumpers. and reconnect the neg. battery cable. This will then give the electronics a reset with the proper voltage. If this was all caused by the low battery, this should resolve it (provided the battery is not end of life).

QUESTION: if he charges the battery with a donor while his negative cable is disconnected, should he connect the donor cables positive to positive negative to negative or in what manner?

    Hello,

I purchased my first XKR at the end of last year and I am on a steep learning curve (but that’s the fun)
I took a big risk with a 1999 with a blown engine. I now have a new bottom end and a big smile.
but I was amazed to discover the strange approach Jaguar have to oil and temperature gauges.
Your modifications look very good. I have spent some time on your very informative web site.
I am defiantly planning on your oil and temperature kit. There were two questions I did not find answers to, firstly the shipping cost to the UK (without committing to buy) and secondly if you still offer discount to jaguarforums members?

Thanks for all the helpful info.

    Best regards

    Tony-

    Hi Steve

I have an XKR 2000 model with premium sound (Alpine) plus the phone integration.

I found some information you provided about the Parrot MK9100 and 9200 and would be interested in having one in my car but it sounds a hell of a job to fit and I'd find it complicated to fit regarding the wiring.

I'm in the UK and came across this part

In Car Entertainment, Bluetooth & Multimedia fitting solutions and interfaces

I'm not quite sure if it's a part I would need and whether it would make it easier for me to fit. Also would it be possible to use the mic that's already in the car.

I could go to a Parrot specialist and get them to supply and fit but if their knowledge of Jags is limited then I could be asking for trouble.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind Regards

    Adrian

    Hey Steve,

You don't know me (other than as a user of the RealGauges on my 1997 XK8) but I was pointed your way on a thread from the X150 forum.

I have mostly fitted a set of OSRAM LEDriving DRLs to my 2006 XK convertible but am struggling to find an ignition +ve and a permanent +ve under the hood. The OSRAM box of tricks most likely only needs the ignition as a signal (to turn on the DRLs) and not as a power-draw. Rather than pulling the fuse box out of the car (its loom is too tight to work on in situ), do you know of any suitable +ve wires I can tap into ? I have the full electrical diagram for the car, but am still left with that fusebox as a last resort. Any ideas welcome !!

I called my local dealer, and they had the disk, but they wanted $350 to use it.

    Hi WhiteXKR,

Would you happen to know where I could get a copy of the JTP824 Jaguar Wipe Disc for the navigation system?

    Thanks,
    Roy
